Web analytics has never been more demanding. After years of working with the Universal Analytics model, marketers and analysts had to switch to Google Analytics 4, adapt to the rigors of GDPR and ePrivacy, and implement Consent Mode. The result? More and more data is disappearing from reports because users refuse to consent to tracking.

Fortunately, that's not the end of the story. GA4, combined with advanced Consent Mode, allows you to recover some of the missing information through behavioral modeling.

Using machine learning, Google can estimate the behavior of those who have not consented, based on data from those who have. It's like a puzzle where an algorithm fits the missing pieces.

How to get the most out of data modeling?

Article tip: To fully leverage data modeling, you must implement Consent Mode in Advanced mode on every page and meet specific traffic thresholds – a minimum of 1,000 fully consented sessions and 1,000 cookieless pings per day for at least 7 days. Only then will GA4 combine actual and modeled data, giving you a more complete picture of campaign performance.
