What is a cookie banner?

A cookie banner is a pop-up window on websites that previously only informed website users that your website uses cookies. However, the new regulations require much more from website owners than before. Why? The new cookie banner should no longer solely inform about the collection of cookies, but primarily serve as a "consent window" for the user, giving them the opportunity to consent to the cookies collected by the website.

When will the new regulations come into effect?

The new directives have already entered into force, so adapting to the new requirements and implementing changes on the website is necessary and even urgent today.

Why is it worth taking part in the webinar?

If you sell products or services online or have a branded website, you also collect and store cookies about users visiting your website. Previously, these cookies could be freely used for marketing purposes. However, new legal requirements have directly impacted the scope of their collection, processing, and further marketing use. This, in turn, significantly impacts the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, online sales, and lead generation.

Why have the requirements changed, what exactly has changed, and how to properly implement these changes on your website? You'll learn all about it in this webinar, where Klaudia Zielke, Head of Web Analytics, will discuss how the new privacy policy provisions regarding personal data processing impact cookie collection on websites.

What are cookies?

Cookies are computer data, often text files, installed on Internet users' devices.

The collected data, including personal data, includes information about all users who have visited your website. These files are used for analytical and marketing purposes to tailor content to the individual preferences and interests of each user. Among other things, they remember login details and products in the shopping cart, and they also use cookies to display personalized advertisements.

What topics will we cover during the webinar:

  • we will explain the changes in the new regulations, how it was and how it should be,
  • we will present the consequences of not making changes to the website,
  • we will indicate how the implementation of the new banner will affect your data,
  • we will help you select tools that facilitate implementation,
  • We will advise you on how to correctly implement a cookie banner on your website.

Who must comply with the privacy policy?

All publishers and advertisers based in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. These changes apply to both the e-commerce and services industries.

The webinar is for anyone who wants to learn:

  • how not to burn through your Google Ads campaign budget due to incorrectly collected data,
  • what are the consequences of not complying with the new privacy policy,
  • how to effectively implement changes to the website.

Be sure to check out why implementing changes to your cookie banner is a must-have and what you need to do to avoid losing data. Watch the webinar.
