Why is it worth sharing your SEO earnings?

The lack of transparency in the area of wages has a far-reaching impact on the overall picture of the labor market in Poland and, in my opinion, results in the following:

  • lack of ability to evaluate one's own work,
  • undercutting rates,
  • salary levels depending on gender,
  • remuneration detached from reliable indicators,
  • weak wage growth dynamics in the private and public sectors.

Everyone agrees that these aren't positive developments, and any actions that help improve the situation are simply valuable. To back up this, I've received numerous comments and private messages on LinkedIn (where we originally shared this SEO salary summary), where people actually thank us for providing the data.

This simply makes it easier for them to navigate the job market, and the example of Verseo is representative. We are one of the largest SEO and SEM agencies in the country, operating in Poznań, which also serves as a good benchmark in terms of salaries in this industry.

While we were refreshing the SEO commission figures, we also measured how much they increased compared to the previously reported figures (January 2020). Year-over-year increases by position:

  • Junior + 20%,
  • Specialist + 32%,
  • Senior + 24%,
  • Strategist + 5%,
  • Expert + 15%.

This is especially good news for those just starting their SEO journey at Verseo – salaries for positions with less experience have increased 2,5 times more than the national average for private companies. On average, a year after taking your first steps in SEO , you can regularly earn 7-9 PLN in commissions.

Is how much an SEO specialist earns crucial?

Salaries are important and maybe even the most important thing in the job itself, but when they are combined with other pleasant circumstances, then you really don't have to fight and have good recruitment and composition.

If everything is based on rational and sensible foundations, then things happen naturally – the key is to keep it simple. Simplicity in Verseo, for example, means:

  • With Verseo, you don't have to painstakingly build seniority to earn a higher salary. After just one year, you can earn good money. Your salary depends on what you do, not how long you've been doing it.
  • We are not committed to rigid plans – every SEO specialist can take on additional projects, propose new solutions and earn extra money,
  • there is no rigid positioning strategy – each SEO specialist has their own methodology that they can freely implement,
  • average SEO commissions are growing by 25% year over year,
  • there is no upper earnings limit,
  • knowledge exchange and access to internal and external training.
