Google AdWords billing is primarily associated with pay-per-click. However, this isn't the only billing model. It's also worth exploring other billing methods for Google AdWords campaigns to choose the one best suited to your needs.
What's it called and what does it mean? Here's our quick guide to Google AdWords billing models.
CPM/CPT – Cost Per Mille/Cost Per Thousand (cost per thousand impressions) – the cost of 1000 impressions of a given ad unit. CPM is payment for the frequency of advertising messages. You can limit the number of times a single ad can be displayed to a single person.
CTR – Click Through Rate – the percentage ratio of the number of clicks to the number of ad impressions (the more targeted the ad, the better the CTR). If an ad is displayed 1000 times and is clicked by 20 users, it has a CTR of 2%.
CPC – Cost Per Click – a very common cost where you pay for every click on an ad, regardless of what you did on the site. This model is primarily used in campaigns that achieve sales goals.
CPV – Cost Per View – the advertiser pays for each ad view. This model applies to pop-up ads on video sites, such as YouTube . Here, the advertiser pays for each ad viewed by the user before the video they are interested in.
CPA – Cost Per Action (CPA) is a model in which the advertiser is charged only when, after viewing an ad, the user performs a specific action, such as providing personal information, purchasing a product, or filling out a form on a website. The rate may be dependent on the completion of a specific action, but it may also be a commission on the sale.
CPL – Cost Per Lead – the advertiser pays for advertising only when a user provides their contact information by filling out a form or registering on the website. A specific rate is charged for each lead generated.

CPO – Cost Per Order – here the basis for settlements are user orders.
CPE – Cost Per Engagement – here the fee is charged only when the user demonstrates a certain level of engagement (interacts with the ad), e.g. plays a game that is part of the ad.
CPS – Cost Per Sale – the advertiser pays for each sale of a service/product made under the influence of the advertisement.
Flat fee – a model in which the advertiser pays a predetermined rate for a specified advertising time (in a given location, without a limit on views).
